Privacy Policy

Last updated September 17, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information InsideProxy.net ("InsideProxy", "we", "us", "our") collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website, dashboard, browser extension, and API (collectively, the "Service").

This Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account details β€” name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
  • Billing details β€” top-up amounts and the payment method used. Card and wallet details are handled entirely by our payment processors; we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Support requests β€” anything you send us via email, live chat, or the contact form.
  • Optional profile data β€” a profile picture, if you choose to upload one.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data β€” pages visited, features used, bandwidth and request counts, and timestamps.
  • Device and log data β€” IP address, browser type, operating system, and general location derived from your IP (city/country level only).
  • Session data β€” a session identifier stored in a cookie so you stay signed in, plus the browser and approximate location of each active session (visible to you in Settings β†’ Active sessions).

2.3 Information from third parties

If you sign up via Google or Discord, we receive your name and email address from that provider. If someone refers you with a referral link, we record which account referred you.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the Service, including authenticating your proxy requests and enforcing your account balance.
  • Process top-ups, calculate usage, and maintain your billing history.
  • Send transactional email β€” account confirmations, security alerts, and (if you opt in from Settings) low-balance alerts, product news, and promotional offers.
  • Respond to support requests and improve the Knowledge Base.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Analyze aggregate usage trends to improve network performance and pricing.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use a small number of cookies, described below. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

  • Session cookie β€” required to keep you signed in. Without it, the dashboard cannot function.
  • Preference cookies β€” remember choices like a dismissed banner.

You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the dashboard will not work correctly without the session cookie.

5. Payment Processing

Top-ups are processed by our third-party payment partner, OxaPay (crypto payments). When you add balance, the information you enter is sent directly to that processor under its own privacy policy and security controls. InsideProxy receives only the top-up amount, a status (paid/failed), and a transaction reference β€” never your wallet seed or other payment credentials.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers β€” payment processors, email delivery, and infrastructure hosting, bound by contract to use your data only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal requirements β€” if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of InsideProxy, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers β€” if InsideProxy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
  • With your consent β€” any other sharing will be disclosed to you at the time and only happens with your agreement.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and billing data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations. We do not retain the content of traffic routed through our proxies β€” only aggregate bandwidth totals used for billing. You can request earlier deletion as described in Section 8.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Wherever you are located, you can:

  • Access and update most of your account information directly from Settings.
  • Download a copy of your data by emailing [email protected].
  • Delete your account, which erases your profile, session history, and stops all future emails β€” some billing records are retained as described in Section 7.
  • Control marketing email β€” toggle low-balance alerts, trial/upgrade reminders, promotions, and product news individually from Settings β†’ Email notifications.
  • Review and revoke active sessions at any time from Settings β†’ Active sessions.

9. GDPR β€” EU/EEA Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area or UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you additional rights over your personal data, and we rely on the following legal bases to process it:

  • Contract β€” processing needed to create your account and deliver the Service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests β€” fraud prevention, network security, and improving the Service.
  • Consent β€” marketing emails you have opted into, which you may withdraw at any time from Settings.
  • Legal obligation β€” retaining billing records as required by tax law.

9.1 Your GDPR rights

  • Right of access β€” request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification β€” correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure β€” request deletion of your data, subject to Section 7.
  • Right to restrict or object to processing.
  • Right to data portability β€” receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

10. CCPA β€” California Users

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its "sale" β€” a term the CCPA defines broadly. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. You can exercise your CCPA rights by emailing [email protected]; we will not discriminate against you for making a request.

11. Security and Compliance

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), salted password hashing, and optional two-factor authentication for your account. Payment data is handled exclusively by PCI-compliant processors and never touches our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to continuously improve our practices and monitor the Service via our public status page.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via Announcements or by email to the address on your account. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.

14. Contact Us

Questions about this Privacy Policy or your data can be sent to [email protected], or through Support from your dashboard if you have an account.

15. Browser Extension

This section covers the InsideProxy Switcher browser extension specifically, in addition to everything else in this Policy.

15.1 What the extension stores

The proxy profiles you add or import (label, host, port, scheme, and the username/password for that proxy) are saved only in your browser's own local extension storage. They are never transmitted to InsideProxy's servers, never synced to any account, and are deleted immediately and permanently if you remove the extension.

15.2 Why the extension asks for the permissions it does

  • Proxy β€” lets the extension configure your browser to route traffic through the profile you select.
  • Storage β€” lets the extension save your proxy profiles locally, as described above.
  • Web request / auth provider β€” lets the extension automatically supply the saved username and password when the proxy itself asks for authentication. This is used only to answer that authentication challenge; the extension does not read, log, or modify the content of any page you visit.
  • Access to all sites β€” required because the authentication step above has to work no matter which website you happen to be on while connected to a proxy; it is not used to collect data from those sites.

15.3 Third-party requests

When you connect to a proxy, the extension makes one request through that connection to ipinfo.io (an independent, third-party service) purely to show you which country and IP address you're currently connected through. That request is subject to ipinfo.io's own privacy practices, not ours. The extension performs no analytics, tracking, or telemetry of its own.
